My first month at Factoria Cultural:
in mid-January I started this beautiful work experience in Madrid, at Factoria Cultural, a business hub specialized in the CCIs (Creative and Cultural Industries). FC, as I said, is an incubator of companies and focuses its activities on training and acceleration programs. The business model is very interesting and includes two large calls per year, through which, between 50 and 60 projects are selected. Projects are chosen for specific learning programs that concern, for example, fashion, design, performing arts, architecture, heritage tourism, etc. This model is so scalable, that within a few years, they have already opened three other hubs around Spain.
My experience so far, through the European Erasmus project for young entrepreneurs, has been extremely positive. From the first moment, I worked directly with the president and the vice-president, both made me feel important in the strategic choices. My dream would be to learn how to handle this type of business, so I can replicate it one day in Italy, adapting it to my idea of co-living. The first month of work helped me to study the various activities that took place and therefore I contributed to their organization. For example, I had an active role in organizing the various training courses and open that take place on Thursdays. These are called Foro Expertos and foresee open interventions to the public by an expert in the creative and cultural industries.
In addition, I have collaborated in the preparation of all the documentation for the communication of the so-called “Jornadas de emprendimiento creativo”. These are days that are organized at the end of each semester and include the participation of distinguished guests and the presentation of the incubated projects, directly addressed to the productive ecosystem interested in those themes. These days are not general, they are thematic, such as the day of fashion and design, or the day of architecture and heritage tourism. My work, beyond the logistics organization, consisted in preparing the documentation relating to the guests.
To conclude, this first month of work was useful to familiarize with the team, to get to know all the activities carried out and to get to know the incubated projects and to improve my Spanish.
