I started my EYE program at Invesia Construccion y Servicios in Granada, a city with a mix of ancient and well rooted cultures, where you feel you deal with something from which you can take the cue.
It is over two weeks since I started the program and I’m having my first experiences with the new work environment and the Spanish language. My host entrepreneur, Juan Manuel, is very kind and willing.
He introduced me to my coworker, those people who make the Company a solid reality in the Civil Construction market of Andalucia.
As I set in my initial objectives, I’m trying to interact as much as possible. A short but at the same time important moment for me is the “desayuno”, a break in which all employees go to have breakfast together, where I have the chance to know them better out of the work context and build relationships.
In this first period I usually work with the architect Victoria Ramirez Marquez, with who I’m understanding better some technical things, also because I’m not fluent in Spanish and she speaks italian too. She works on the Subsidiary Executions with the Municipality of Granada and get estimates for the residential sector.
My purpose in this first period will be face all the technical aspects while I deal with the customer relationship management, publics and privates.
