So far, my experience has been mixed. In general, I haven’t particularly liked the Spanish system due to the long processing times, but the festival environment is very welcoming, and I was integrated quite well from the start. The team is very nice and welcoming.
During the first two months, I didn’t work in a very structured way, perhaps because everything was still being defined.
However, things improved later on, with tasks more aligned with the project and my needs.
No significant events or challenges have occurred during my collaboration.

Meeting Program Objectives
Yes and no. I haven’t been involved in every aspect we plan on the Agreement Commitment, mainly because the office is already structured with specific people in each department. However, I had the opportunity to listen, observe, and better understand their work.
At times, I collaborated more actively, while in other instances, I was less involved due to some bureaucratical needs, which I understand.
I believe it would be helpful to establish a structured plan from the beginning, outlining clear steps and tasks throughout the exchange period and then face the day by day tasks throughout the exchange.
Anyway, I have gained a deeper understanding of the planning process behind a film festival and how they engage with public/private institutions for collaborations. I had the chance to interact with different departments to learn more about their roles and works.
Additionally, I got to know a very interesting reality and the significant financial challenges behind organizing such an event. I also gained more insights into how the graphic design and news dissemination aspects are managed. I am now more aware of the organizational steps required to build the current year’s edition. Anyway the main supervisor has always been available to provide information and support whenever needed. From this moment on, things are gradually becoming more active and new tasks will arrive as the festival of this year is approaching.
