I’m Jaden, a Dutch entrepreneur who came to Ljubljana through the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme. My host, Bostjan, runs Waboost, a startup working with nanobubble water treatment technology for agriculture. I found out about EYE through my network and decided to participate because I wanted real, hands-on experience in B2B sales and market entry, something I could never learn from a course or a book. I came in running a catering business and expected to pick up a few useful tips. What I didn’t expect was how much this exchange would change the direction of my entire career.
Over five months, Bostjan and I worked closely on entering the Dutch agricultural market together. I researched target industries, mapped out customer profiles, and studied our competitors to understand where Waboost could stand out. We built cold outreach scripts from scratch, tested them, refined them, and I started reaching out to real Dutch companies. Bostjan mentored me twice a week, not just teaching me tactics, but walking me through how he actually thinks as an entrepreneur: how he weighs risk, reads a market, and makes decisions under uncertainty. It never felt like an internship. It felt like two entrepreneurs building something together, each bringing something the other needed.

I leave this exchange with concrete, practical skills in sales strategy, market research, and consultative selling, but the biggest shift happened somewhere I didn’t expect. Watching myself grow into this work made something click: I want to build a sales agency connecting Central European companies to Western European markets. That clarity alone made the entire five months worth it. I made genuine professional contacts along the way, and Bostjan walked away with real market intelligence, a qualified prospect pipeline, and a clear path forward for Waboost’s Dutch expansion. It was a win for both of us.
I came to Slovenia to learn about sales. I left with a completely new vision for my future, and a mentor who helped me find it.
