My background lies at the intersection of medical sciences, business, and finance. My Host Company, Aisthesis Medical, develops AI-driven software for early sepsis detection, which aligned very well with my interests in medtech, digital health, healthcare innovation, and venture capital financing.
My business idea is to one day build a scalable healthcare company with the potential to improve access to care and create meaningful impact for patients and healthcare systems. I discovered the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme through the PARP website. I decided to participate because I wanted to gain first-hand insight into how an innovative startup develops its business model, prepares for market entry, communicates with investors, and raises VC funding. I expected the experience to strengthen my practical knowledge, confidence, and entrepreneurial mindset.
During my EYE stay, I was involved in a range of activities supporting the Host Company’s business development, investor readiness, and market positioning. I participated in external ecosystem events, including the SEHTA Awards and Barclays Demo Day in London, which helped me better understand how medtech startups present themselves to investors, partners, and industry stakeholders.
I also supported the preparation and review of investor-facing materials, including the due diligence questionnaire, pitch deck, commercial documents, and a database of potential investors. In addition, I worked on weekly newsletters to strengthen the company’s communication and visibility, and contributed to the health economics model, which is important for demonstrating the potential value of the company’s technology.
My relationship with the Host was collaborative and educational. I received guidance and feedback, while also contributing actively to practical business tasks.
The EYE experience helped me develop both practical business skills and a stronger professional network. One of the key benefits was the opportunity to connect with the London startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem, including medtech founders, investors, accelerators, and industry stakeholders met through events such as the SEHTA Awards and Barclays Demo Day.
Professionally, I strengthened my skills in investor relations, due diligence preparation, pitch deck review, commercial communication, market positioning, investor research, and health economics. I also gained a better understanding of how early-stage medtech companies prepare for fundraising and communicate their value proposition to different audiences.
The experience also created the basis for future cooperation with the Host Company and gave me greater confidence to develop my own business ideas in the future.
The EYE programme gave me first-hand insight into how an innovative medtech startup grows, raises funding, and builds its market position. It strengthened my confidence, network, and ambition to build my own company one day.
