I am Rosita, illustrator and graphic designer from Southern Italy. I studied Art and graphic design since I was in the high school. I did my degree in graphic arts at Brera Academy in Milan with a master in editorial illustration at ISIA Urbino. My interests span across illustration, editorial design, animation etc. I’m particularly drawn to projects that combine art with education, social engagement and cultural promotion. Over the years, I’ve worked on children’s books, editorial illustrations, visual identities, creative communication projects and Art, of course. I’m passionate about using illustration as a tool to communicate complex ideas in an accessible and emotional way.
I decided to participate to this program to improve and grow my skills abroad, to learn Portuguese language and culture, to research about topics that I like to work, to collaborate with people from different backgrounds and refine my entrepreneurial skills by learning from established professionals in my field. This is a really amazing experience I would recommend to everyone who is ready to be out of the confort zone, no matter how old you are, It’s a really great opportunity to grow and learn.

One of the most exciting project I did until now it was to curate a fanzine exhibition promoted by the organization Rock’n Cave at Elevadora, Paredes de Coura. This exhibition celebrates over 20 years of the Rock’n’Cave Fanzinoteca, with a special focus on artists who are actively engaged in creating independent publications. The techniques used range from screen printing and risograph to classic homemade printing on paper.
The exhibition was designed to be light and accessible, just like the fanzines themselves. Cardboard, used in the display structures, was chosen for being a common, easily transportable material that can be creatively adapted to different settings, making it an effective communication tool on a low budget.
Over 200 fanzines from around the world are on display, created by artists and collectives of all ages.
