The first two weeks of May have been very busy. A lot is going on to organise the FyneFest, and we brewed, bottled, casked and kegged many beers.
We prepared some new specialities, like an experimental cask version of a New England IPA, and two fruit beer with a kettle sour base: one with mango and the other with Passion Fruit, with a tropical twist for the summer!
We are producing so much that our manager had to order new casks in a hurry, because we were running out of space. Looks like we’ll have a very interesting summer!
I have been involved in the most diverse tasks, from brewing in the small brewery, to clean casks for out our core beer in the new brewery, to pick gorse flowers for our next collaboration brew, to clean the drains. Some jobs are surely less pleasant than others, but cleanliness is probably the most important thing in a brewery, and it always requires attention.
A brewer surely needs to be multitasking.
