My name is Sebastiaan van Esch, and I am a business student with a strong interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, and the luxury sector, especially the watch industry. My goal is to develop my own concept within horology, making it more accessible to a younger generation.
During my exchange, I collaborate one-to-one with Ismael on innovation-driven projects, gaining insight into how ideas are developed into practical concepts.
I discovered Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs through my studies and joined to gain real entrepreneurial experience abroad. I expect this programme to strengthen my mindset, broaden my perspective, and support my future ambitions.
During my EYE stay, I have been involved in various innovation-related activities, contributing to the development of ideas and supporting ongoing projects. My role mainly focused on exploring concepts, thinking along in the creative process, and helping to structure ideas into clearer directions.
The collaboration with my host, Ismael, was more project-based, with regular moments of contact to discuss progress and exchange feedback. Although the interaction was not always frequent, these moments provided valuable insights into how he approaches innovation and problem solving.
This way of working required me to be more independent and proactive, which strengthened my ability to take initiative and reflect on my own contributions. Overall, it has been a valuable learning experience, combining guidance with a high level of autonomy.
