I am Sara, 27 years old, graduated in European and non-European languages and cultures, currently pursuing a master’s degree to teach Italian language and culture to foreigners. My Host Entrepreneur is Martina Lilli, one of the most important figures of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Izmir, a renowned cultural institute promoting Italian language, culture, and the arts in Turkey.
I discovered the EYE program through networks and was immediately attracted by the opportunity to gain practical teaching experience abroad, combining my passion for languages and cultural exchange. I expected to develop my professional skills, improve my intercultural communication, and broaden my perspective by living and working in a different country.
This experience has been valuable in transforming theoretical knowledge into real-life practice, enhancing my teaching abilities, and fostering a deep understanding of the local culture and educational environment.
During my EYE stay at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Izmir, I actively participated in teaching Italian language and culture to local students, organizing interactive lessons and cultural workshops. I also supported the preparation of educational materials and collaborated on language events promoting Italian culture in the community.
My relationship with my Host Entrepreneur has been very positive and supportive. She provided guidance and encouragement throughout the experience, helping me adapt to the local environment and improve my teaching skills.
