I discovered the program when a friend shared a link with me. It struck me as a great chance to gain insight into how a company works, develop my skills, and experience an international environment while expanding my network.
My business idea is a company offering fully organized vacations, starting with trips to Madeira for Polish tourists who may feel limited by language barriers. The business will operate entirely online, with a strong focus on digital marketing, a user-friendly website, and a streamlined booking system—elements still missing from many competitors. I chose Mein-Wasserfilter as my host because they also operate without a physical office and focus on online sales and customer service.
During my stay with the host, I was mainly involved in social media activities, managing the online store, improving the purchasing process, email marketing, setting up promotions, and making changes to the website and in Shopify. The host introduced me to the company’s working style and the tools they use. My stay began with a team-building trip, which gave me the opportunity to get to know the entire team, learn about their achievements, and understand their goals for the upcoming year. Julius was always supportive and gave me time to find solutions. We had the opportunity to discuss and implement new ideas.
Thanks to my stay with the host, I learned how to manage an online store in Shopify, gained experience in email marketing and interactive quizzes, and became familiar with the features of a website builder that was new to me. I’m glad I had the opportunity to experience a completely different business management model than the ones I was previously familiar with.
At the host company, there is a constant exchange of ideas, and employees are treated more like co-owners than subordinates.I also had the opportunity to participate in a workshop held by one of the company’s partners, which allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the products. I learned more about the German market, consumer behavior, and customer service.
During my stay with the host company, I gained valuable experience in managing an online store, email marketing, and creating social media ad campaigns. I appreciated the open atmosphere, the exchange of ideas, and the opportunity to explore a new management style.
