I am Nicolò Viozzi, a 29-year-old architect and I have decided to undertake work experience abroad to compare myself with different ways of working, people with different backgrounds and knowledge and to put myself to the test. I learned about the EYE program at a conference organized by Inarcassa and I thought that this was the program for me. I chose my Host as I was attracted by the international caliber of the studio’s work and after an introductory interview I was convinced to join.

My aim was to understand and learn about the dynamics in a studio that often works with international clients and collaborators and obviously also have different and new notions on a working level.

After an initial period of “training”, which allowed me to understand the way the studio works, I think I got into the heart of the work quite quickly, as it is a studio with a small staff.

I think there is a very good and healthy working climate inside, organised enough to avoid stress and misunderstandings.

The relationship with the host was very good, as he proved to be very helpful towards me, both in explaining certain things to me and in giving me advice, and I also had the opportunity to work on 4 different projects in the space of 6 months, in which I was obviously more or less involved.

At the end of these 6 months, in addition to the various skills acquired, my host and I came to the conclusion that, after a period of holidays, I would return to him to continue the collaboration outside the EYE programme.

It’s been a very rewarding experience and in addition to everything I learned on a professional level, I had the opportunity to improve my English, but the most important thing was the personal life experience, that is one of the most enriching experiences on a human and personal level.
