My name is Mirco Munaro and I am an aspiring entrepreneur from Italy. My business idea is to start a co-hosting and property management service for short-term rentals in the Veneto region. I discovered the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme through a friend who had already participated and recommended it to me. I decided to join because I wanted to gain practical experience before starting my own business. My Host Entrepreneur, Diego Moretti, manages short-term rental apartments in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. During the exchange I expected to learn how to organise daily operations, improve guest experience and understand how to manage a hospitality business efficiently. I also wanted to experience a different culture and build international professional relationship.

During my exchange I supported the daily management of the short-term rental business. My activities included guest communication before and during their stay, check-in and check-out procedures, apartment preparation, quality control and coordination of daily operations. I also helped improve Airbnb listings by reviewing descriptions, photos and guest information. Throughout the exchange I worked closely with my Host Entrepreneur, learning how to organise the business, solve practical problems and provide a high-quality guest experience. Our relationship was collaborative, based on trust, continuous learning and regular discussions about hospitality and entrepreneurship.

This experience helped me develop practical skills in hospitality management, customer service and business organisation. I improved my confidence, communication skills and understanding of short-term rental management. Beyond the professional aspects, I became familiar with the local culture and built valuable personal and professional relationships. I now have a clearer vision of how to start my own business in Italy and I plan to apply what I learned during the exchange. I also hope to continue collaborating with my Host Entrepreneur and maintain the professional relationship developed during these six months.
