I am Miguel Sousa, my company name follows my own artistic name Meii Soh which describes my curatorial, design, entrepreneurial practise. My business is geared to the art system and cultural organisation with a focus on writing, performance, and curatorial organisation. I found about the EYE through a friend who had previously done it and had a great experience, also in the german context. I hoped for this opportunity to expand my networks and hands-on dealing with gallery and curatorial work.
I was asked to be very proactive and self sufficient while keeping in mind the tasks that the space required but also my own entrepreneurial agency within it. Myself and the HE kept it on a professional basis from start to finish and engaging each other on singular and collaborative grounds. This type of engagement led me to take ownership of projects with the guidance of the HE.
I made a lot of contacts within and outside of Berlin thanks to this opportunity. Exactly because of this opportunity I established contacts with a radio station where I will be working for the upcoming months with my own curatorial and sound work – Cashmere Radio. At the same time, I will also carry another project of my own for the month of July, extending my relationship with the HE further after the conclusion of the EYE Program. If everything goes well, I have recently agreed with the HE that this collaboration will extend further in time.
My experience was Excellent and i got from it much more than I thought I actually would.
