I am an aspiring entrepreneur with a background in architecture and design, currently developing my professional path through the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program. My host is an experienced and collaborative architect, leading a practice engaged in projects ranging from urban design competitions to landscape interventions and building development. I discovered EYE while researching opportunities to gain international experience and expand my professional skills. I decided to participate because I wanted to learn directly from an established entrepreneur, experience different approaches to project management, and build connections within the European architectural context. My business idea focuses on developing sustainable and context-sensitive design solutions, and I expected the program to help me refine my skills, strengthen my profile, and gain practical insights into both the creative and managerial aspects of running a practice.

During my EYE stay, I have been actively involved in several projects, including urban design competitions, landscape interventions around lakes, and the development of existing and new building additions. My role has focused on technical contributions such as 3D modeling, CAD design, and preparing project layouts, while also engaging in discussions about design approaches and project strategies. The collaboration with my Host has been very constructive: they provide clear guidance and assign responsibilities while encouraging autonomy and creativity. I also receive valuable mentoring on project financing, competition processes, and the architectural practice landscape in Italy. This balance of independence and support has allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the office’s work while gaining practical knowledge and professional confidence.

Through this experience, I developed valuable technical and organizational skills, improved my ability to prioritize tasks, and gained insights into project financing, competitions, and architectural practice in Italy. Working on diverse projects has expanded my portfolio and enriched my professional profile. The exchange also boosted my visibility and competitiveness in the architecture field, giving me the practical experience I needed to strengthen my career prospects. Most importantly, it significantly helped me to secure a position in another firm, where I can continue developing my career as an architect with greater confidence, independence, and motivation.

The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program has been a turning point in my career. It boosted my confidence, expanded my portfolio, and gave me the experience I needed to grow as an architect and secure new professional opportunities.
