I am an aspiring entrepreneur who recently took part in an enriching experience in Tenerife through the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) programme. During my stay, I collaborated with a host running a successful hospitality company, which gave me valuable insight into daily business operations. I discovered the EYE programme after participating in a previous Erasmus initiative, which inspired me to further develop my entrepreneurial ambitions. My main motivation for joining was to gain practical knowledge on how to start and manage a company. Through this experience, I expected—and succeeded—to deepen my understanding of business strategy, operations, and the realities of entrepreneurship.
During my EYE stay, I was actively involved in managing key operational and marketing tools, including platforms such as Booking, Airbnb, PriceLabs, and Guesty. I supported promotional efforts by creating social media content and targeted email campaigns, helping to enhance the company’s visibility and customer engagement. These hands-on tasks allowed me to better understand the dynamics of the hospitality sector. My relationship with my Host was very positive, characterized by open communication, mutual respect, and continuous guidance, which made the experience both productive and enjoyable.

During my EYE experience, I developed practical skills in managing booking platforms, revenue optimization tools, and digital marketing strategies. I gained confidence in handling daily business operations and improved my communication and organizational abilities. The experience also allowed me to build valuable professional contacts within the hospitality sector. Importantly, it opened the door for potential future collaboration with my Host, while giving me a clearer vision and stronger foundation to successfully launch and manage my own business.
