Hello, my name is Julia. My project and business, it’s thyme, is all about learning how to embody healthy, regenerative relationships with yourself, each other and our Earth. We co-create offline Hubs, where people live, work and learn together how to build a healthy, just and joyful future. During the last two years of my entrepreneurial journey, I met a few people from Galicia who I deeply connected with and who shared the same vision and values. Among these people was Dennis, my HE for this 6-month EYE exchange. Dennis is, among many other things, the founder of The Foundry. The Foundry is a self-organized space for artists, creators, remote workers and those looking to develop their work outside of the market and academia, with a focus on self-sufficiency and sustainability. So my idea was to get to know and learn from him and his project as well as getting to know the beautiful area and people of Galicia, all with the intention to progress with my own business.
Dennis and I have done various different activities such as little workshops where each of us showed their work and their approaches. Topics included Decolonisation, Syndicate, Peace-building, Personal Regeneration, “Bloom” and Permaculture. Fun and vivant discussions afterwards were always included ;-). We did some personal regeneration practices together such as breath work, somatic and creative expression sessions such as dancing, playing music, gardening etc.
Otherwise, we did a SWOT analysis about our projects, brainstorming about a possible collaboration and exploring synergies and win-win scenarios in terms of resource/network sharing, syndicate, and programs/workshops.
1. New business plan through integration of Dennis’ approaches and an applied SWOT analysis
2. A sound understanding of the concepts of decolonisation and peace building incl. concrete approaches and practical tools.
3. A sound understanding of Syndicates and its possibilities for my business model
4. A toolkit for peacebuilding/conflict management and new confidence to show myself and handle conflicts in bigger groups.
5. An action plan with Dennis to foster our partnership after this exchange: we will keep each other updated and will organise learning exchanges together.
6. A wonderful and beneficial network in Galicia
7. Lot’s of inspiration and joy from the experience together.
8. Personal growth, community/network growth and stronger entrepreneurial mindset.
