I am a young entrepreneur with a background in Tourism Studies in English, a field that trained me to navigate international environments and understand how people connect across cultures. Wanting to combine this foundation with my growing interest in human connection, communication, and creative community-building, I joined the EYE programme to explore new professional paths. My Host Entrepreneur is a communication and marketing specialist working on socially oriented projects, and her mentorship offered the ideal setting to develop my business idea around intercultural events and language-based activities. I discovered EYE while looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience abroad and expected to strengthen my skills in event design, digital marketing, social media strategy, and community engagement while shaping a clearer entrepreneurial vision.
During my EYE stay, I developed and coordinated linguistic and intercultural events in different venues, collaborating with local associations and cultural spaces. I supported administrative tasks such as email management, scheduling, and general coordination, while also contributing actively to the promotion of activities through social media, video creation, and digital content. As the exchange progressed, I became increasingly involved in the human resources area, assisting in recruitment-related tasks and communication with candidates. Although this was not part of my initial expectations, it became a very enriching surprise, allowing me to work directly with people and deepen my understanding of human connection across different professional contexts.
During this exchange, I gained significant skills in event coordination, communication, social media management, and problem solving, which have strengthened my confidence and ability to work in diverse environments. I developed strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, learning to navigate the social dimension present in any professional setting. I also built a valuable network of contacts, both professional and personal, that I will carry with me beyond the programme. One of the key benefits is that I remain interested in continuing to collaborate in the activities I initiated during the project, as they have been deeply enriching and have helped me grow both personally and professionally.
This experience expanded my confidence, skills, and connections, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally. Working across cultures and creating meaningful events has shaped my vision for the future and confirmed the path I want to follow.
