I am a Polish sound engineer and video editor developing my own post-production business focused on dialogue editing, sound design, and AI-enhanced workflows. My Host was an experienced studio owner, Jose, running a professional sound studio abroad.
I joined the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) program, which supports cross-border collaboration between new and experienced entrepreneurs. I discovered EYE through previous Erasmus+ projects and decided to participate to gain international experience and understand how a sound studio operates in another country.
The collaboration with Jose was highly productive and a truly valuable experience. I learned a great deal about AI applications, business management, and advanced dialogue and sound effects editing. This experience will strongly support the development of my future business.
During my EYE stay, I was actively involved in professional sound editing projects, including dialogue editing, cleaning, synchronization, and sound effects preparation for audiovisual productions. I supported ongoing post-production workflows and observed advanced techniques used in high-level studio environments.
In addition to creative tasks, I was also involved in aspects of business management, such as workflow organization, client communication, pricing strategies, and project planning. This gave me practical insight into how a sound studio operates from both artistic and entrepreneurial perspectives.
My relationship with my Host was professional, open, and collaborative. Jose was supportive and willing to share his experience honestly. We worked closely on projects, exchanged ideas about AI and studio development, and maintained a constructive mentor-entrepreneur dynamic throughout the stay.
During my EYE exchange, I significantly developed my business management skills, gaining practical insight into studio operations, client relations, pricing structures, and strategic planning. This hands-on experience strengthened my confidence in running my own creative business.
I also improved my language competencies, particularly through working with Spanish dialogue in real post-production environments. This expanded my ability to edit, understand, and adapt dialogue in an international context.
Creatively, I gained a new perspective on sound effects design and integration, learning more refined and efficient approaches to building immersive audio layers.
Beyond skills, the exchange opened valuable international contacts and created strong prospects for future professional cooperation.
