As my journey at with my HE Esencia Foods comes to a close, I reflect on the incredible achievements and valuable experiences that I have been able to experience. Specifically, over the last three months I have undertaken a comprehensive traction exercise aimed at gathering feedback on Esencia Foods’ products by engaging over 60 local vegan restaurants and businesses.
A significant highlight during this period was collaborating with a local restaurant to feature Esencia Foods’ products in one of their dishes for a limited time. This marked the first instance of their product reaching paying customers, a pivotal step in the company’s mock go-to-market strategy. Leading and executing this initiative allowed me to witness firsthand the dynamics of commercialization and customer response.
In the pursuit of fostering growth, I established connections with ACCIÓ, a catalytic entity dedicated to supporting startups in Catalunya. ACCIÓ provided valuable resources, including financial tools and network creation, offering support at every step of the entrepreneurial journey. This collaboration broadened our horizons and reinforced the importance of a strong support network in the startup ecosystem.
Lastly, I began working on the company’s transition from a lab to a pilot plant. Actively involved in setting up the groundwork for this expansion, I contributed to creating a floor plan and forged connections with potential partners. This step represents a significant leap towards scaling up Esencia Foods, ensuring a more substantial presence in the market.
Throughout my participation in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program, these accomplishments have not only enriched my understanding of the startup landscape but also empowered me to take critical steps for my future endeavours. Connecting with the Barcelona startup ecosystem has been instrumental, providing me with valuable insights and learnings that I am eager to implement in my future ventures.
As I bid farewell to Esencia Foods, I carry with me a wealth of experiences and a sense of accomplishment. The EYE program has been a catalyst for growth, allowing me to navigate the intricate journey of a young startup and laying the foundation for successful commercialization. I am excited to take these lessons forward, applying them to my future ventures and contributing to the vibrant world of entrepreneurship.
