I am a product designer with a strong passion for entrepreneurship and innovation, and I chose to undertake the EYE program at Evento, an Italo-American company specializing in interactive culinary experiences for corporate events and brand activations. I first discovered the program thanks to friends I met during other Erasmus experiences, and later decided to apply after an encouraging conversation with an IO officer. Seeing my potential and my intention to found a startup, she simply asked me, “Why don’t you start now?”
My business idea, GlobalBridge Studio, is a cultural alignment and strategy studio that supports US companies expanding into European markets, especially Italy. From this program, I expected to gain exposure to a structured yet agile company, develop resilience through hands-on learning, understand operational dynamics, and strengthen my international network.

I worked closely with Evento’s design team to support and enhance engagement across their events. My tasks included creating visual assets, contributing to concept development, assisting with photography and on-site interactions, and offering input on strategic directions. I collaborated with all members of the Evento team, developing particularly strong working relationships with one of the co-founders, Sam, and the design manager, Berenice. We met two to three times a week to review ongoing work, while I completed the remaining tasks remotely. We also held a dedicated weekly session to develop my business idea. What I appreciated most was how they welcomed me as an equal, actively listening to my ideas and remaining open to exploring the directions I proposed.

During the exchange, I developed several key skills, including working directly with clients, managing deadlines more effectively, and expanding my professional network. I also built valuable contacts in New York City, which I am particularly grateful for and which I believe will be highly beneficial for the development of my business.
As for future prospects, my Host and I plan to stay in touch, continue exchanging advice, and explore opportunities to collaborate further. The experience was so positive that there is a genuine desire to maintain continuity. This opens meaningful long-term perspectives for me, potentially across different countries, all connected through shared business goals.
