During a six-month exchange, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Zsuzska Juhász, an experienced entrepreneur from the Hungarian organization Origo. My goal was to gain hands-on experience as a photographer and visual communicator, while also learning about the operations of a social enterprise and how to produce visual promotional materials that effectively tell the story of its work.

Throughout my time at Origo, I gained valuable experience in communication campaigns, as well as in the creation of promotional videos and photography. I produced videos about Origo’s training programs and had the chance to work with a variety of content styles—from journalistic and informational pieces to more artistic and expressive formats. These materials have been published on Origo’s website and social media platforms, and I’m excited to see the impact of my contributions. Additionally, some of my photographs will be featured in an upcoming book about one of the training programs.

One of the highlights of this experience was participating in the training programs runed by my HE, where I had time and space to experiment with capturing dynamic moments, people, nature, and movement in creative ways. Building on my journalistic experience, I expanded my skills in creating promotional content and storytelling, particularly for a target audience of potential clients. Furthermore, I enriched my portfolio with new material and connected with potential future clients.

My HE provided valuable insights into the Erasmus+ application process. She guided me through the application system and offered constructive feedback on my own future ideas. With her support, I now feel equipped to write my own project applications, both within the Erasmus+ framework and beyond. Thanks to the insights from my HE, this experience also deepened my understanding of what it takes to run a social enterprise.

This exchange has opened many doors for the future growth of my photography business.

As a result of this exchange, I now feel significantly more confident and prepared to work with visual content for social enterprises, NGOs and other organizations focused on social or environmental impact.
