As I reach the midpoint of my EYE experience here in the Netherlands, I feel that the overall balance of this journey is extremely positive and deeply transformative. What began as a leap into the unknown, filled with the typical uncertainties of moving to a new country and starting a professional exchange, has gradually transformed into a journey of profound daily growth. Every challenge I have faced, whether it was navigating a different cultural approach to work or adapting to a new social environment, has become a valuable opportunity to learn something new about myself and the complex dynamics of the professional world in an international context.
One of the most beautiful and unexpected aspects of these past weeks has been the possibility of stepping outside the traditional office boundaries to interact directly with the local reality. We have organized and implemented several workshops open to the community, often involving children as well. These moments of exchange have been fundamental for my development. Seeing how creativity and design thinking can unite people of different ages, backgrounds, and cultures has given me a completely new perspective on my role as a designer. It reminded me that behind every technical project or business strategy, there are first and foremost people and their innate desire to learn, connect, and improve their surroundings. Working with children, in particular, taught me the importance of simplicity and the power of looking at problems with fresh, unconditioned eyes.
I feel that the program objectives are being achieved in a very natural and organic way. The collaboration with my Host Entrepreneur has become increasingly fluid and productive over time. Their initial helpfulness and warm welcome have matured into a solid relationship of mutual trust that allows me to participate actively and meaningfully in decision-making processes. While at the very beginning of this exchange there was a persistent fear of not being able to fully communicate my vision or my technical background, today I feel much more confident and fully integrated into the Dutch professional dynamics. I have learned to appreciate the pragmatism and the direct communication style that characterizes this work environment, finding it incredibly efficient for project development.
For the second part of my stay, I do not feel the need to overturn the existing work plan, as the foundation we have built is very strong. However, I hope to further deepen the strategic and management aspects of the business. I want to understand more about the long-term sustainability of creative enterprises and how to maintain high innovation standards in a competitive market. Every day spent here is a lesson in resilience, organization, and open-mindedness. I am realizing that this exchange is not just a professional internship, but a vital bridge between my academic studies and my future as an independent entrepreneur.
I am certain that I will return home to Altamura not only with a significantly enriched baggage of new technical skills in my sector but also with a precious network of international relationships and a personal awareness that only an immersive experience of this type can provide. I am ready to live the coming months with the same curiosity and enthusiasm I started with, feeling deeply grateful for the sincere welcome I received and for the wealth of knowledge this adventure is teaching me every single day. The path toward my future career feels much clearer now, and I look forward to seeing how these remaining weeks will continue to shape my professional identity and my vision of the world.
