The first half of my stay abroad has been an incredible experience that opened up new perspectives for me, both professionally and personally. From day one, I felt that I was part of something truly special. The water sports center where I’m doing my internship is full of life, and the atmosphere is electric – everyone, from clients to instructors, shares a passion for sports and nature.
The beginning, of course, was full of challenges. The first week felt like a “deep dive” into a new world. Learning administrative procedures, analyzing the services offered, and observing daily operations required my full concentration. The financial systems were particularly challenging – Excel spreadsheets quickly became my daily companions. Despite the initial difficulties, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction when I finally managed to complete my first sheets correctly and understand how the business operates behind the scenes.
The second week brought new challenges – and that’s when emotions really started running high. Interacting with clients during the equipment rental process is something I truly love. Every client has a different story, unique needs, and expectations. One moment I’ll never forget was helping a man try windsurfing for the first time. He was full of hesitation, but after an hour, he discovered the joy this sport can bring. I saw a spark of pride and satisfaction in his eyes – a moment that reminded me why I chose this career path. Of course, there were also more difficult situations, such as miscommunication about the right equipment for more demanding clients, but each instance taught me valuable lessons.
The biggest challenge so far was managing the daily operations of the center in the fourth week. It was a true test of my organizational skills. Preparing the monthly financial report, ensuring payments for instructors, and simultaneously handling client services felt like a marathon. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed, but in the end, everything was completed on time. The satisfaction was immense, especially when my mentor praised my dedication and proposed we discuss possible improvements for the center together.

As for the program’s objectives, I feel they are being fully achieved. Each week brings new skills, both practical and interpersonal. I’ve learned more than I expected – not only about working in a sports center but also about myself. Managing my time and energy has been the biggest challenge, but I can already see that I’m improving in planning with each passing day.
For the second half of the program, I’d like to implement a few changes. Most importantly, I’d like to spend more time analyzing client feedback and developing teaching methods – I think this is key to further improving the center. Additionally, I dream of creating my own unique offering for clients that could become a hallmark of this place.
To sum up, my time abroad has been a mix of emotions, challenges, and satisfaction. Every day is a new lesson and a new story that I’m adding to my memory. I’m eagerly looking forward to what the second half of the program will bring!
