It’s Martynas here, checking in from the sunny Tenerife once again! Time has flown by, and I can’t believe that I’m already halfway through my Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme. I’ve settled in so well that it feels like I’ve been a part of the team for ages. The island continues to charm me with its beauty, and the work is just as captivating. Imagine waking up in the morning to a beautiful ocean view, enjoying your coffee before heading to your office feeling fresh and ready for the day. It’s a feeling that’s hard to describe.
One of the things I love most about this experience is the variety in my day-to-day tasks. One day, I’m knee-deep in data, updating the new system that is being implemented and helping make sure that everything runs smoothly. The next day, I might find myself in meetings with potential new partner companies, discussing exciting opportunities for collaboration. It’s this dynamic nature of the work that keeps me on my toes and makes every day a new adventure. The unpredictability is thrilling—whether it’s solving a complex problem that’s been bugging the team for quite some time or brainstorming innovative ideas that could revolutionize our approach. Sometimes, it’s the simple satisfaction of ticking off tasks from to-do list, knowing each small step contributes to a larger goal. It’s a blend of focus and flexibility, strategy and serendipity, that fuels my passion for what I do.
My grasp of Spanish is steadily improving, thanks to the immersive environment. It’s amazing how much you can pick up just by being surrounded by the language daily. The supportive team I work with continues to be a source of inspiration and learning. They’re always there to guide me, whether it’s explaining a complex business strategy or helping me navigate the cultural nuances of doing business in Spain.
One particularly memorable experience from the past month was tackling the challenge of how to implement some of the old data in the new system. It was fascinating to see the team’s creativity in action and to contribute my own ideas to the mix. The collaborative spirit here is truly something special, and I’m grateful for the opportunities to learn and grow alongside such talented individuals.
As I reflect on the past few months, I feel a profound sense of gratitude for this incredible opportunity. The combination of hands-on experience, professional development, and personal growth has been invaluable. I’m looking forward to the second half of my exchange with eager anticipation, knowing that there are still so many exciting experiences and lessons to come.
