Looking back at the first half of my stay abroad, I can honestly say it’s been an incredibly rich and eye-opening experience full of learning, challenges, and growth.
Working in a completely new environment has pushed me outside my comfort zone in the best possible way. I’ve met inspiring people, learned new perspectives, and developed both professionally and personally. Every week brings something unexpected, and I feel like I’m constantly learning and evolving.
In the beginning, it took time to adjust to a different pace, language and style of communication. But with each passing day, I’ve become more flexible, patient, and confident in unfamiliar situations. I’ve also improved in reading people’s needs something especially important in this kind of work, where every guest is unique.
One of the biggest milestones so far was organizing and running our first-ever Family Kite Camp. It was a completely new challenge for the team and for me personally. Unlike individual clients, families (especially those with kids) have different expectations, routines, and need much more attention and support throughout the day. It was a more intense and dynamic experience, but also incredibly rewarding.
Seeing parents and children having fun together, learning new things and creating unforgettable memories showed me how meaningful this kind of holiday can be. I also realized that more and more families are choosing active, experience-based vacations over traditional all-inclusive resorts. It’s a trend worth following and I’m really happy I got to be a part of this first step.
Another highlight has been the great connection I’ve built with my host. Month by month, I feel more involved in the day-to-day reality of running the business. I’m learning how much goes into planning, scheduling, organizing the team, and making things work behind the scenes.
At this point, I don’t feel like any major changes are needed. Every month brings new experiences and learning opportunities whether it’s managing a new type of guest, solving unexpected problems, or just finding better ways to communicate as a team. I’m growing step by step, and I feel more confident and prepared for what’s ahead.
Overall, this exchange is giving me exactly what I hoped for hands-on experience, real growth, and a clearer vision of what kind of professional I want to be. I’m excited for the second half of this journey and ready to take on even more responsibility and challenges.
