The first half of my stay at EYE has flown by! I’m doing my internship in the kitchen, but my tasks go far beyond that. Besides helping with the daily kitchen activities, I also make sure the venue looks its best and I actively contribute ideas for improvements and new concepts. This makes my work very diverse and educational.

During my time here, I’ve already taken part in several events, where I not only helped in the kitchen but also got the chance to serve guests myself. These moments were very valuable because they allowed me to see how everything comes together during an event – from preparation to execution. I’ve learned how important teamwork and good communication are, especially when the pressure is high and timing is everything.

Lately, I’ve also started helping with the company’s social media. We’ve been brainstorming different ideas and new ways to share our story online. I really enjoy being able to use my creativity in this area, and it’s especially interesting because I’m working closely with Eduardo, which gives me a better understanding of how communication and marketing are handled within the company. It’s inspiring to see how a simple idea can turn into real content that reflects the atmosphere and values of the business.

Overall, everything is going really well. I’m still very happy that I decided to take this opportunity, and I notice that I’m learning something new every single day – not only about the company and the hospitality sector but also about the different cultures of my colleagues. Working with people from so many backgrounds makes the experience even richer and more inspiring. It has also helped me improve my language skills and become more confident in expressing my ideas.

The objectives of the program are definitely being met: I’m developing new skills, gaining a better understanding of entrepreneurship, and becoming more confident in my role. For the second half of my stay, I would like to get even more involved in the organizational and creative side of events, learning more about planning, budgeting, and guest experience. I also hope to continue growing in social media strategy and storytelling, as this is something I truly enjoy and see a future in.

Looking back at these past months, I’m proud of how much I’ve grown both personally and professionally. This exchange has given me the opportunity to explore my interests, challenge myself, and connect with inspiring people. I can’t wait to see what the next part of this journey will bring!
