Reflecting on the first half of my EYE exchange, I can confidently say that it has been a very enriching and inspiring experience. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally through my collaboration with the host entrepreneur and the local community.
My host entrepreneur specializes in marketing and human resources, and working closely with her has helped me understand the more human side of running a creative business, how important relationships, internal communication, and team dynamics are. I’m also learning a lot about the visual and strategic aspects of marketing: how to present ideas clearly, how to build a strong identity, and how to engage with different audiences through digital content.
At the same time, I’ve had the chance to develop my own small initiatives. On my own, and in collaboration with local people and international residents, I’ve created informal events focused on language exchange. These gatherings are spaces where people can meet, talk, and learn English or Italian in a relaxed and playful way. Organizing them has allowed me to apply everything I’ve been learning, from branding and communication to community, building and event promotion, while also doing something I’m passionate about: connecting people.
One of the most rewarding parts of this experience has been discovering how much I enjoy the human side of entrepreneurship, meeting new people, sharing experiences, and creating a sense of belonging. Through these moments, I’m reminded of the value of empathy, adaptability, and creativity when building something meaningful.
So far, I don’t feel any adjustments are needed. I’m really enjoying the process as it is, embracing the flexibility and flow that naturally come with this type of experience. Every day brings something new, and I’m learning to trust the journey.
In conclusion, this first part of my exchange has already brought me clarity, growth, and renewed motivation. I’m looking forward to the second half of the program and all the lessons and connections that are still to come.
