The halfway point to my entrepreneurial dreams in Treviso Italy!
I’m back in Treviso, ready to dive into the second half of my entrepreneurial exchange. The sun is out, spirits are high, and I’m so happy to be back in this charming city I’ve come to miss. It feels good to pick up right where I left off, energized by the progress made and excited for what’s next
My time here has sparked growth in some truly unexpected areas. One significant development has been in social media management, where I’ve gained hands-on experience in short-form video production. This isn’t just about learning tools; it’s a comprehensive journey from ideation and scriptwriting to pre-production, filming, editing, publishing, and analyzing content performance. This practical skill set is something I can confidently turn into a career as a social media strategist and manager. Beyond that, my beauty business, Divian, is truly taking shape. I’ve made significant strides in validating the problem my products aim to solve and thoroughly researching the supply chain for the products I plan to sell. It’s incredibly exciting to see my vision become more and more tangible.
My host entrepreneur, Giovanni, has been an incredible mentor. He’s not only challenged me professionally but has also offered invaluable wisdom on maintaining a healthy work-life balance which is a crucial lesson for any entrepreneur. His guidance reminds me that working hard is important, but so is slowing down and enjoying life, especially in a place like Italy! This experience isn’t just shaping my current business; it’s opening up entirely new possibilities. I can now envision a future where I might leverage my skills to bridge entrepreneurial opportunities between Sweden and Italy, or even develop a truly international venture.
The confidence I’ve gained through this exchange truly shone during my recent break back in Sweden. Navigating a tough job market as an unemployed graduate was daunting, but my new mindset pushed me to create my own opportunities. As a “jack of several trades,” I managed to offer a wide range of services, from home services to hairstyling, to earn money. This experience has been transformative, helping me unlock the essence of true entrepreneurship: it’s not about being attached to one business idea, but rather about seeing and seizing opportunities wherever they may be. I’ve also connected with local entrepreneur groups in my local city which will be fantastic for learning and exchanging ideas, fostering mutual growth.
My goals for this time around are:
Deepen my social media strategist and management skills: I want to become even more proficient in this area.
Secure paying clients as a social media strategist: Turning this newly acquired skill into a viable income stream.
Develop a detailed and actionable business plan for Divian: Ready to hit the ground running upon my return.
Explore more of Italy and fully immerse myself in the culture: So far, I’ve only seen bits of Venice and Treviso, and I’m eager to discover more of this beautiful country.
Master the perfect Tiramisu: Living in the birthplace of this delicious dessert, it feels like a necessary skill to acquire while I am here.
To any aspiring entrepreneur reading this, if you’re looking for an experience that will not only accelerate your business development but also profoundly transform your personal and professional outlook, I cannot recommend the Erasmus+ for Young Entrepreneurs program enough. It’s truly a game changer.
