My Erasmus experience in Las Palmas, working alongside Andrea and the 1604 Lab team, has been incredibly meaningful and aligned with the goals I set for myself when joining the program. From the very beginning, I’ve had the chance to immerse myself in real projects that reflect the kind of work I want to do as a freelance digital strategist—particularly in CRM setup and marketing automation.
I’m currently working on the implementation and optimization of a CRM system for Andrea’s business ecosystem, which includes the agency (1604 Lab), his consulting activity, and external partnerships. I’ve been able to take ownership of specific tasks, such as mapping the contact structure, setting up custom fields and pipelines, and integrating tools like Gmail, Calendly, and Slack into a centralized workflow. This hands-on experience is helping me apply everything I’ve studied and tested over the years—and it’s incredibly satisfying to see the results take shape in a real, fast-paced environment.
At the same time, I’m developing new skills as a project manager. I’ve learned how to coordinate with different team members, manage timelines and priorities, and translate strategic goals into operational plans. It’s not always easy—some days are intense and mentally demanding—but every challenge has become an opportunity to grow. I’m learning how to make decisions with more confidence, how to manage complexity, and how to keep things moving forward even when there’s uncertainty or ambiguity.
The objectives of the program are being fully met, and I can honestly say I’m gaining much more than expected. I’m not only improving my technical skills, but also learning to see the bigger picture: how to position a business, how to lead a project, how to build relationships that create value. Working so closely with Andrea has been especially inspiring—he shares insights with transparency, encourages initiative, and involves me in both strategic and creative decisions.
Another great part of this experience has been the opportunity to connect with Andrea’s network and collaborators. I’ve met professionals from different fields—tech, design, performance marketing—and I’m observing how they work together, challenge each other, and grow through collaboration. These interactions are helping me better understand the dynamics of the digital industry at a higher level, and they’re also giving me new ideas for my own business in the future.
In short, this first half of the program has been intense, exciting, and very empowering. I feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be—learning, evolving, and building something meaningful, step by step. I’m really looking forward to the second part of the exchange, and to taking everything I’ve learned even further.
