My name is Ulyana Kostyushina, and I am currently in my third year of the International Business program at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, the Netherlands. Throughout my studies, I have developed a strong interest in areas such as digital marketing, international business development, and market research. What excites me most is the intersection between creativity and data—understanding customer behavior through research and analytics, and then using those insights to design innovative marketing strategies.

Beyond marketing, my academic background has given me a broad perspective on business, including finance, supply chain, and economics, which allows me to approach challenges with a well-rounded and analytical mindset. I am also passionate about international collaboration and cultural exchange. Having grown up in a multilingual environment (fluent in English, Russian, Bulgarian, and currently learning Spanish), I naturally enjoy working across borders and connecting with people from different backgrounds.

In terms of sectors, I am particularly drawn to digital marketing, the beauty and wellness industry, and the broader technology and innovation field. These are areas where consumer behavior, creativity, and business growth intersect, and I see myself contributing meaningfully in these contexts.
I decided to participate in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) programme because I believe it is an invaluable opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and gain first-hand international experience. My motivation comes partly from curiosity and the desire to broaden my horizons, and partly from the inspiration I found while working with entrepreneurs and startups during my studies. I want to see how businesses in different countries approach challenges, and I believe that learning directly from experienced entrepreneurs abroad will give me a new perspective on business development.

I expect this experience to contribute greatly to both my human and professional growth. On a personal level, living and working abroad will help me build adaptability, independence, and intercultural communication skills—qualities that are essential in today’s globalized world. On a professional level, I hope to gain practical insights into entrepreneurship, sharpen my digital marketing and strategic thinking skills, and expand my international network. I see this program as a bridge between my academic knowledge and my career ambitions, helping me grow into a more confident, capable, and globally minded professional.
