My name is Pip Maarschalk and I’m a visual artist and photographer from the Netherlands. I recently graduated from Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, where I developed my style and vision as a photographer. Before that, I studied at Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam, which gave me a strong foundation in design and technical skills. My work mainly focuses on capturing real emotions, storytelling, and the connection between people and their surroundings. I love to explore different fields such as documentary and fashion photography, and I often work on personal projects like exhibitions and small publications. My goal is to create images that feel honest and intimate, and that tell a story beyond what’s visible.
I decided to join the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program because I want to learn how to take my creative work to the next level and turn it into a sustainable business and make money in the long run as well as a learning how to get a good network! During my studies I didn’t have the time to really build it up. Now that I’ve graduated, I want to focus on growing my business, learning how to reach new clients, and understanding how to manage creative projects professionally. The program felt like the perfect opportunity to learn from someone with real experience and to understand how a creative company works from the inside. I was especially drawn to Delizia because they work with creative and cultural industries, which connects perfectly with my background and interests.
So far, my time at Delizia has been fun and inspiring. I’ve been learning a lot about how to build a stronger social media presence and how to connect with audiences in a more strategic way. I also started building my personal website, and the team has been giving me great advice on how to present my work professionally. Together we are working on new video content and upcoming podcast projects, and I’ve also been contributing ideas for the visual identity of Delizia, from the overall aesthetic to how the colours and tone come together across platforms. On top of that, I help during events with photography and filming, and with the setup and production. It’s really exciting to see the behind-the-scenes side of creative work and to meet new people to grow with and learn from.
I see that this experience is helping me grow both as an artist and as an entrepreneur. I’m learning how to bring creative ideas into a professional structure, how to communicate with a team, and how to connect visuals with storytelling and brand identity. I’m also improving my Italian and getting more confident in working internationally!
