I come from Sweden and over the past several years I have developed a strong interest in communication, tourism, sales psychology, and the way people make decisions when choosing experiences and destinations. Professionally, I worked in KPI-driven sales environments where I learned structured communication, customer relationship management, and performance-oriented thinking. At the same time, I was always drawn toward international environments and people-oriented work rather than traditional office routines.

This led me to spend longer periods abroad, particularly in Southeast Asia, where I worked in hospitality-related roles, including bartending, watersports instruction, and English teaching. Living and working in countries such as Cambodia and Vietnam gave me practical insight into tourism from the operational side. I became increasingly interested in how tourism experiences are presented to guests, how trust is built through communication, and how small differences in communication style can influence booking decisions and overall customer experience.
Over time, I realised that my strongest interests are concentrated around the connection between tourism operations, customer communication, and business development. Because of this, I started developing my future business idea focused on digital communication and sales optimisation for tourism businesses, particularly within sustainable and experience-based tourism.

I first heard about the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme through a friend who previously participated in the exchange as a New Entrepreneur. He described the experience as one of the most valuable learning opportunities he had because it allowed him to learn directly within a real business environment instead of only through theory. Hearing about his experience made me seriously interested in the programme and eventually motivated me to apply myself.

What attracted me most to this exchange in Split was the opportunity to learn within a real tourism environment through collaboration with an experienced tourism professional. The connection between tours, guest experience, storytelling, and sustainability sailing initiatives strongly aligns with the direction in which I want to develop my own business. I am particularly interested in understanding how tourism experiences are communicated to guests, how inquiries are converted into bookings, and how sustainability can be presented in an authentic and credible way.

I believe this experience can contribute significantly to both my professional and personal growth. Professionally, it will help me build a more realistic and operationally grounded business model by exposing me to real guest interaction, inquiry handling, and tourism workflows. Personally, I believe living and working in Croatia will strengthen my adaptability, independence, and ability to work across different cultural and business environments. I see this exchange not only as a learning opportunity, but as an important step in becoming a more mature and capable entrepreneur with a clearer understanding of both the Croatian and Swedish tourism markets.
