My name is Nicola, and I’m an Italian guy with a lifelong passion for art. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to the world of creativity, finding joy in expressing myself through artistic mediums. I completed my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts and Printmaking. This experience laid the foundation for my artistic journey and gave me the technical and creative skills that now define my work. I have a deep love for drawing and painting, which has not only shaped my studies but also influenced the path my life has taken, eventually leading me to the vibrant city of Porto. Porto, with its rich artistic scene and creative atmosphere, has become a place where I can fully immerse myself in art. Every corner of the city is filled with creative energy, from galleries to street art, which continually inspires me to grow as an artist.

Despite my young age, I have already gained diverse international experience, having lived and worked in different parts of the world. I’ve traveled to Spain and California, participating in various English language courses and completing internships in graphic and artistic studios. Each experience allowed me to improve my language skills and learn about different artistic approaches and cultural perspectives, which I find invaluable as an artist. Through these travels, I developed a broader worldview and expanded my understanding of art and design. I’ve also built a foundation in traditional printmaking techniques, including engraving, lithography, and silkscreen, which I plan to explore further. My goal is to deepen my expertise in these methods to eventually open a studio of my own. I aspire to create a space where I can work directly with the public, sell my artwork, and engage with the art market in a meaningful way. I envision a studio where people can not only see my work but also experience the process of printmaking, connecting with the art on a more personal level.

I firmly believe that, in my position, the best thing to do is to travel and connect with artists from all over the world. Interacting with international artists allows me to share ideas, techniques, skills, and passions, creating an environment of mutual growth and inspiration. This is why I’m particularly excited about this project for young entrepreneurs; it aligns perfectly with my goals and aspirations. I first heard about this initiative from an Italian friend I met in Lisbon in June 2024. When she told me about it, I immediately saw it as an ideal opportunity to further develop both my artistic and entrepreneurial skills. As soon as I learned more about it, I reached out to MATERA HUB to begin this journey, which I am confident will enrich my understanding of the art world and help me build valuable relationships with other creatives.

I see this experience as a unique chance to improve my relational skills, deepen my knowledge of the art market, and enhance my ability to interact with diverse audiences. This program will not only help me grow as an artist but also prepare me for the challenges and opportunities that come with working in the art industry. I am eager to learn, collaborate, and evolve, embracing each aspect of this journey with openness and dedication. My ambition is not only to succeed personally but also to contribute to a vibrant artistic community that transcends cultural boundaries and brings together artists with a shared love for creativity. This project is more than just a professional step; it’s an opportunity to be part of something larger, a global network of young artists and entrepreneurs who inspire each other and push the boundaries of art and business.

By participating in this initiative, I hope to gain insights that will support my vision of an art studio where creativity and community come together, and I’m looking forward to the many possibilities that lie ahead in this adventure.
