My name is Luca Ferraiuolo, and I have just graduated in Business Administration. Despite my academic background, I have always worked in the hospitality industry, in bars and restaurants. This experience has allowed me to develop excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments. I have always been fascinated by the world of business, particularly in the hospitality and food service industries, and I aspire to one day open my own business in this sector.
I decided to participate in this exchange thanks to Antonio Cafaro, who works for Materhub. His experience and enthusiasm encouraged me to take this opportunity, and today I can say that it has been one of the best decisions I have made. Living in Málaga is allowing me to immerse myself in Spanish culture, discover new traditions, and understand a different approach to business management, particularly in the hospitality industry.
Currently, I am working in an evening venue in the heart of Málaga, an experience that is proving to be extremely enriching. I am learning how to manage customer service in an international setting, perfecting new cocktail preparation techniques, and understanding the operational dynamics of running a successful hospitality business. Additionally, I am gaining valuable insights into staff management, supplier relations, and financial planning—essential skills for anyone who, like me, dreams of becoming an entrepreneur.

This experience is not just a professional opportunity; it is an investment in my future. The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program is helping me build a strong foundation for my career by exposing me to real-world business challenges and innovative management techniques. I am learning how to adapt to new situations, think strategically, and approach business decisions with a global mindset.
I believe that everything I am learning here will be a significant asset when I eventually start my own business. From understanding customer preferences in different cultural contexts to learning effective marketing and financial management strategies, this exchange is giving me firsthand experience that no textbook could ever provide. Moreover, being in an international environment is expanding my professional network, which could open up future business collaborations or opportunities.
In the long run, I see this experience as a key stepping stone toward my entrepreneurial goals. It is shaping me into a more competent, adaptable, and forward-thinking professional—qualities that are essential for success in any business venture. I am grateful for this opportunity, and I am confident that what I am learning here will help me achieve my dreams in the hospitality industry.
