Ciao ragazzi! I’m Jule, 24 years old, and in March 2026 I started my Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs here in Bologna. Before coming to Italy, I was studying for my bachelor’s degree in sociology and political science in Dresden, Germany.

During my time there, I found myself becoming increasingly interested in the political field rather than the sociological one. While attending lectures on international relations and cooperation, I realized how much this area truly captured my attention. That’s when I began exploring potential career paths, as well as job and internship opportunities in this field.

Within my bachelor I travelled to Foligno, Italy to make my intercurricular internship with Erasmus + at an agency that’s focus is on international project management. Having the position as the project management assistant, I received insights into multiple Erasmus + projects about sustainability, social justice, feminism, green technologies and digitalization. Soon I noticed, that this job could be something for me. I was immediately interested in learning more about those different topics, the communication with partners all around the world and the impact that projects can have.

After completing the internship I felt inspired to explore more about Erasmus + opportunities and soon I found the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme. Since then I was motivated to come back to Italy, now that I already had some working experience in an Italian context and starting to get comfortable with the language. Coming myself from a working class family and being the first one in my family to participate in an international programme, I saw a big opportunity to get creative for my own project and business idea with EYE, while being in Italy collaborating with an organization that can help me fulfill my plan.

I have now been working with Scambieuropei in Bologna for three weeks, and I can already say how grateful I am for this experience. Through this programme, I not only have the chance to grow personally—by living abroad, learning a new language, and immersing myself in a new culture—but also to learn from experts in international projects and cooperation. At the same time, I am able to contribute my own perspective and skills as a young professional.
