My name is Job, and for the past few weeks I have been working here as part of my studies. I am currently studying at bachelor level in the Netherlands, with a strong interest in how people function, learn and develop. Sport has always been a big part of my life – not only as something I enjoy doing, but also as a way of understanding discipline, teamwork and performance. Alongside sport, I have a strong passion for technology and an even greater interest in economics and how organisations operate. I really enjoy talking with people, building connections and learning from their experiences. That is one of the reasons I feel very comfortable in this company, where people, business and innovation come together, and where I can start developing myself in economics, maritime experience and technology.

I decided to participate in the EYE programme mainly out of curiosity and ambition. I wanted to see how entrepreneurial life really looks on a daily basis: how decisions are made, how risks are managed and how value is created for clients. I was also strongly motivated by the opportunity to work abroad and challenge myself in a different cultural and professional environment. Working in a company connected to the maritime and technology sector is especially interesting for me, because it brings together international economics, logistics, innovation and complex problem-solving. After only a few weeks here, I already see how valuable it is to observe an experienced entrepreneur dealing with strategy, finances, technology and client relations in real situations.

This experience is already contributing significantly to my human and professional growth. On a personal level, living and working abroad has made me more independent, adaptable and confident. I have to communicate in another language, adjust to a new work culture and build relationships from zero, which has clearly improved my communication and social skills. On a professional level, I am beginning to understand how a business in the maritime/technology field is organised: from daily operations and cooperation with partners, to thinking about costs, pricing, efficiency and innovation. Working with this company helps me to connect my interests in economics, maritime activities and technology into a more concrete career direction. These first weeks have already given me practical experience, a broader international mindset and the first steps of a professional network that I hope to continue building with this company in the future.
