My name is Jaden Rumokoy and I am currently studying Entrepreneurship and Retail Management at a university of applied sciences in the Netherlands. This study focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation and how businesses can grow in competitive markets. During my studies I learn about business strategy, marketing, consumer behaviour and financial management. I enjoy combining theory from school with real business situations, because I believe that the best way to learn entrepreneurship is by actually doing it.

Besides my study, I am also running my own small business called Indoway. With this business I prepare Indonesian food and snacks and provide catering for both private and business customers. Through this experience I learn a lot about running a company, such as dealing with customers, organizing events, managing costs and promoting my products. For me, entrepreneurship is not only something I study, but something I actively practice. This makes my study more meaningful because I can directly apply what I learn in real life.

My interests are mainly focused on entrepreneurship, sales, food culture, retail and business development. Sales is something I enjoy a lot because it is about understanding customer needs and offering the right solution. I find it interesting how communication, product knowledge and trust can influence a purchase decision. This interest also connects well with my studies and my work experience in retail. In addition, I am passionate about food and culture. Indonesian cuisine is part of my background and I enjoy sharing this culture with others through my business. Next to that, I am interested in sports and personal development. I practice sports regularly because it helps me stay disciplined and focused, which are qualities that are also important in entrepreneurship.

I decided to participate in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) program mainly because of curiosity and the opportunity to gain international experience. I believe that entrepreneurship is strongly influenced by culture, markets and different ways of thinking. By participating in this program, I can see how entrepreneurs in other countries run their businesses and how they approach challenges. Experiencing another business environment abroad can give me new insights and ideas that I would not gain if I stayed only in my own country. I am also motivated by the opportunity to meet new people, build an international network and learn from experienced entrepreneurs.

On a professional level, it will help me better understand how businesses operate in different markets. I can learn new strategies, management styles and innovative ways of working. These insights can help me further develop my own business in the future. On a personal level, living and working in another country helps to develop independence, adaptability and communication skills. Working with people from different cultures also improves the way you think, collaborate and solve problems.

Overall, I see this program as a valuable opportunity to grow as an entrepreneur and as a person. It allows me to gain practical knowledge, expand my network and develop a broader international perspective on business. These experiences will help me in my future career and in developing my own entrepreneurial projects.
