I graduated with a degree in Sociology. Throughout my academic journey, I developed a deep fascination with human behavior, social trends, and community dynamics. One major contemporary shift I noticed is the rapid rise of solo traveling, alongside a growing global desire for meaningful community engagement and volunteering. Driven by these insights, I envisioned a digital solution: a specialized mobile application designed to seamlessly bridge the gap between independent travelers and grassroots volunteering initiatives. My passion lies at the intersection of social research, technology, and impactful tourism, and I am highly motivated to transform this concept into a sustainable enterprise.
I decided to participate in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) program because it offers the exact practical bridge I need to transition from an academic mindset to an entrepreneurial one. While I have a strong theoretical foundation in social trends, I recognize the need for hands-on experience in managing a business, navigating market challenges, and scaling an idea. The opportunity to learn directly from an established entrepreneur abroad is an invaluable catalyst that will help me refine my business model and gain the confidence required to launch my startup.
I specifically sought out my Host Entrepreneur because their unique business ecosystem perfectly mirrors my own entrepreneurial ambitions. They operate both a successful travel agency and a non-governmental organization (NGO) simultaneously. This is an incredible stroke of luck for me, as it provides a live, real-world blueprint of how commercial tourism and social impact can coexist, support, and enrich one another. Furthermore, choosing Turkey as my destination was a deeply deliberate choice; I have a profound appreciation for its rich culture, history, and hospitality, making it the ideal environment to immerse myself in both personally and professionally.
I am confident that this experience will significantly accelerate both my human and professional growth. Professionally, I will gain firsthand insights into daily business operations, financial management, and the synergy between profit and purpose. On a human level, living and working in Turkey will broaden my cultural horizons, sharpen my cross-cultural communication skills, and build a international network of mentors and peers.
