My name is Davide Scabbia, and I hold a degree in Art History from the University of Bologna, a path I chose driven by my strong passion for history, art, and cultural outreach. After my first professional experiences as a tour guide in cities and museums, I felt the need to challenge myself once again, step out of my comfort zone, and face new professional opportunities.
I learned about the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme through a close friend and was immediately impressed by it, as it represents a real opportunity to gain international experience while developing skills that are essential for launching a future entrepreneurial project. This is not my first international experience: I previously took part in an Erasmus Study programme in Barcelona in 2020 and an Erasmus Internship in Prague in 2021. These experiences helped me understand how essential exposure to different cultural and professional contexts is for both personal growth and career development.
On this occasion, I consider myself particularly fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with Todo Tours in Madrid. In addition to allowing me to take part in and lead guided tours of the city and its main landmarks, the company is supporting me in acquiring skills related to travel organization and digital content production for web and social media—competences that are increasingly in demand in today’s international job market.
After the first two weeks of activity, I am beginning to gain an in-depth understanding of the core aspects of working as a tour guide and tour organizer, which will form the basis for my future self-employed career, while also improving my command of the Spanish language. All of this has been made possible thanks to the valuable support of Lara, Antonio, and the other guides, who have been welcoming, supportive, and collaborative from the very beginning. I am confident that by the end of this experience, I will have achieved significant growth not only from a professional perspective, but also on a personal and human level.
