Last June, after I graduated from my bachelor’s in Film and TV Production, I felt a bit lost about what to do with my future. It was hard to find jobs in that field, and I wasn’t even sure about what kind of career I wanted to pursue, so I thought that becoming an entrepreneur and being able to decide what I like and what I want to do would be a good idea.

Some things I knew for sure were that I am passionate about storytelling and audiovisual products and that I love being creative. I also knew that my camera and editing skills were not as good as they should have been, and that I wanted to improve them. At the same time I didn’t know where I wanted to start my business and my career, if I wanted to do it in my home country or abroad.

With all of this in mind, I started to research different possibilities for my business and I found out about the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program. I decided to take part in this program because I thought that seeing how an established company works and where I can fit in such a complicated business would help me decide what’s the best route for me.

When I started to look for possible Host Entrepreneurs I had plenty of options and I decided to get in contact with Carlo, because I sensed that he would be able to give me all the freedom I was looking for.

Since I arrived here I met many interesting people who work in my field, but also people who work in other fields, which made me realize how wide the horizons for a job like mine are. The chances to create content are absolutely endless and the only thing that stops me from creating new content is my creativity.

I am confident that this experience will significantly help me grow both from a personal and from a professional point of view: I am a shy person who has a hard time asking people for help, but being here, surrounded by people, will surely help me get out of my comfort zone. Asking them to be in the videos and pictures that I am planning for the social media accounts makes me understand that interactions are a vital part of my job and I can’t be afraid of them.

Moreover, I believe that my time here will help me improve my camera and editing skills, by getting endless opportunities to practice them and also by getting feedback from people who don’t necessarily work in this industry and can represent the “client” point of view. I will also have a chance to get feedback from Carlo both on the content that I am creating and on my business plan. We already had some time to look through it and his insights, especially on budgeting and pricing have been very valuable.

All in all, I think this experience will make me grow from every point of view and I can’t wait to get more into it and use the time I have here to the fullest.
