I’m Agnieszka. I graduated in medicine and also hold a bachelor’s degree in management. After finishing my studies, I spent a year working as a medical intern, gaining experience across several departments. I’ve always been interested in how medicine and business can intersect, and in finding practical ways to bring those two worlds together. I decided that now it was time to try something new.
During my final years at university, I also had the chance to take part in a few hospital internships abroad in Turkey, Romania and Sicily. That experience exposed me to different cultures and showed me how much there is to learn from international collaboration. I know that every skill can be used later, also in my own country.
Joining the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme felt like a natural next step. I’d like to combine medicine with running my own business in the future, so getting a closer look at how a company operates from the inside is incredibly valuable to me.
For the exchange, I chose a medical company, as it aligns perfectly with my background. I thought that my experience would be good to find myself in such an environment. I knew that taking part in an exchange like this is a great chance to meet inspiring people, improve my language skills, and gain solid knowledge. What makes it especially valuable is that everything is learned in a practical, hands-on environment.
From the moment I arrived, the whole team made me feel welcome. The first few days have been quite intensive, and I’m gradually getting familiar with how the company operates and the specifics of its work. I’m gradually getting exposure to each area in the company, which is helping me build a well-rounded skill set that I know will be useful in the future. For now, I feel like it was a really great decision, and that it is a genuine exchange of knowledge.
Beyond work, I’ve met some great people and I’m slowly starting to feel at home here. Living in a different country day to day really teaches you independence and helps you stay open to new experiences and cultures. Portugal is a wonderful country, and the people are very helpful and open. I am excited to see what the coming months will bring.
