I am a young entrepreneur passionate about sustainable construction and real estate development, working on my business idea, Xenia Building, focused on eco-friendly and multifunctional living spaces. My Host Entrepreneur is an experienced professional in construction and project management, with strong expertise in materials, team coordination, and client relations. I discovered the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) programme through an old friend, as an opportunity to gain hands-on international experience and practical knowledge. I decided to participate to strengthen my entrepreneurial skills, learn how to start and manage a construction business from zero, and understand sustainable building practices. I expected to gain technical, managerial, and marketing knowledge, while also building a strong professional network.
During my EYE stay, I was actively involved in observing and analyzing the Host’s business operations, including client management, supplier relations, and team coordination. I participated in visits to construction sites, where I learned about assembly techniques, safety procedures, and the use of materials such as steel, glass, and prefabricated components. I conducted market research on sustainable materials and marketing strategies, and contributed by proposing improvements to ongoing promotional activities. Over time, I progressively applied my knowledge by supporting decision-making in areas such as marketing, organization, and material selection. The relationship with my Host was highly collaborative, based on continuous exchange of ideas, mutual learning, and professional guidance.
Through this experience, I developed key entrepreneurial skills in business management, marketing strategy, and team coordination. I gained practical knowledge of sustainable construction materials and their efficient use within legal and environmental frameworks. I improved my communication and language skills, enabling better collaboration in an international environment. The exchange allowed me to build valuable professional contacts and opened possibilities for future cooperation. I also achieved a clearer vision for my business, including a structured marketing plan, improved client acquisition strategies, and better financial awareness. Overall, the experience strengthened my confidence and preparedness to launch and manage my own business.
