A lot has happened since I moved to Munich! Living abroad is always a mix of missing home while adapting to a new environment, culture and way of life. Despite the challenges that come with starting over in a new country, I’m very happy that I chose to move to Munich. It has been a great place to put my knowledge into practice, challenge myself and continue learning. The city is full of opportunities and offers an inspiring environment where I can meet ambitious founders, entrepreneurs and talented IT professionals.
At DEEP Ecosystems, I’ve had the opportunity to learn new tools, create engaging newsletters and social media content, support clients through consulting, and contribute to a variety of projects. I’ve also helped organise and support delegations attending global conferences, gaining valuable experience in international collaboration, event coordination and stakeholder engagement.
One of the highlights so far was helping organise the annual DEEP Conference in Jülich, where I was also invited to speak at the event. Organising this conference was one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced during my time here. I was involved in several areas, including operations, marketing, visual content, communications and partnerships. There is a big difference between attending an event and experiencing it as a guest, where everything may seem to come together effortlessly, and being part of the team responsible for making it happen. When you are behind the scenes, you realise how many details, decisions and people are involved in delivering a successful event. It was a valuable experience that challenged me to take responsibility, collaborate with others and solve problems along the way.
At the same time, I’ve been dividing my time between learning and contributing at DEEP Ecosystems and attending external events focused on AI, female entrepreneurship, founders’ breakfasts and the broader startup ecosystem. These events have given me the opportunity to meet inspiring people, expand my network and gain new perspectives on entrepreneurship, technology and business.
All these experiences are shaping me both professionally and personally. Moving to a new country has pushed me outside my comfort zone and encouraged me to become more flexible, open-minded and proactive. I’m learning not only from the collaboration I do, but also from the people I meet, the conversations I have and the different perspectives I encounter along the way.
Munich itself has also been a big part of this journey. It is such a vibrant and lively city, with something happening almost every day. I’ve been particularly impressed by the number of events, festivals and conferences taking place throughout the summer. There always seems to be another opportunity to discover something new, meet people or simply experience a different side of the city.
One thing I particularly appreciate about Munich is the balance between its rich history and its modern identity. You can walk through the streets, experience Bavarian traditions and cultural heritage, while at the same time being surrounded by technology companies, startups, international businesses and a growing innovation ecosystem.
Overall, my time in Munich has been a rewarding journey filled with learning, new connections, challenges and opportunities. I’m excited to see where the next chapter will take me—and what else I will discover along the way.
