Last year I graduated from the University in Dresden with a Bachelor in sociology and political science. For completing my Bachelor, I needed to do an internship, which I did in Umbria, Italy. During this internship I discovered a bit more the whole world of Erasmus opportunities, since the organization where I stayed was involved with Erasmus+ project management. That was also the place where I heard about Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs for the first time. I decided to do the application for EYE, because first ideas about starting an own business arose already during my internship in Italy and I wanted to deepen them. When doing the application for EYE, I found with Scambieuropei the perfect Host Entrepreneur for my business idea. Scambieuropei is an organization dedicating itself to active participation and European citizenship. It is an educational, civic, and European organization, using non-formal education.
My activities during EYE were very diverse and I had the opportunity to look into very different tasks and activities, while at the same time working on my own business plan with the support of my host entrepreneur. I had a very good relation with my host organization, with great colleagues and a very flexible working hours, always depending on the tasks that needed to be done. Part of my activities were organizational tasks, social media, communication, working with budget, event planning, workshops, graphics and building a website. My host entrepreneur always gave me the chance to try out all the tasks and ensured that I was always learning something, also for my own business.
The biggest benefit I achieved during my stay is that I developed more and more an entrepreneurial mindset that I will be following now. I can see future cooperation with my host entrepreneur and also with people I got to know during some projects. This cooperation and contact could help me a lot when developing my own business. Also I learned a lot about the tasks as a project manager that were very diverse and equipped me with a wide range of new skills.
The EYE program made dive deeper into the entrepreneurial mindset and encouraged me to dedicate my time and passion into my own chosen mission.
