My name is Federico, a recent graduate in Modern Languages for Communication and International Cooperation. My Host Entrepreneur, Guglielmo, is an experienced professional working on civic, educational and social-impact initiatives, with a strong focus on participation, innovation and international cooperation. My business idea is to develop a freelance consultancy in multilingual communication, localisation, dissemination and intercultural support for organisations and social enterprises operating internationally. I discovered the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme while exploring European mobility and entrepreneurship opportunities. I decided to participate to gain first-hand entrepreneurial experience, test my business idea in a real professional environment and learn from an experienced entrepreneur, while developing practical business skills, expanding my network and gaining confidence in working independently.
During the six-month exchange, I worked with my Host on a variety of activities related to multilingual communication and project development. I initially analysed existing projects and communication practices, identifying opportunities for stronger international outreach. I then contributed to the development of communication strategies, multilingual localisation of websites and social media content, and the design of inclusive approaches for engaging multicultural audiences. In the second half of the exchange, I became increasingly involved in project management, business planning and funding activities, including brainstorming for European calls, market and stakeholder research, and the identification of potential partners. I also supported dissemination activities and explored practical aspects of running a freelance business, including financial planning and cash-flow management. The relationship with my Host was based on continuous exchange, mentoring and practical collaboration.
The exchange allowed me to transform my business idea into a concrete professional activity. I developed stronger skills in project management, multilingual communication, localisation, dissemination, business planning and European funding. I also gained practical knowledge of freelancing, including financial planning and client-oriented service development. Working with multicultural stakeholders strengthened my intercultural communication, adaptability and problem-solving skills, while increasing my confidence in working autonomously. A particularly valuable outcome is the possibility of continuing to collaborate with my Host on future European projects. Overall, the experience gave me a clearer professional direction and a stronger foundation for pursuing an independent career in international communication and project-based cooperation.
EYE gave me the opportunity to turn an idea into a real professional path. I gained practical entrepreneurial skills and learned how to work more independently. Most importantly, I finished the experience with greater confidence in my abilities and clearer goals for my future.
