On the 4th was the general meeting with the complete team during which I had a 1h speech to present my work, my first results and my recommendations. The meeting was fruitful firstly because the CEO Cécile Rousset presented the whole activity of the agency, its operational system and short – mid – long terms goals, secondly because I met every team member and learned more about their missions and our general work.
Seeing my results, Cecile asked me to share my methodology to Anna, responsible for the Russian market. I gave her my materials, tools and work plan. We also had a meeting last Tuesday, so I could follow what she has been doing.
The lasts weeks were dedicated to the product definition and specification of targets. I individuated offers and their prices which were like ours and started to work specifically on some products in the aim to create in due course a brochure with specific selections of travels and activities that we’ll offer on the French tourism market. The highest difficulty is about the choice of our approach: should we present VivoVenetia as a travel agency? As a platform? As a network? Or just as a local provider or DMC? This choice is not evident and impact the success of the contact.

I also re-elaborated for the French tourists two of our thematical visits of Venice – one about art crafts and the other as an introduction tour – (the own product of VivoVenetia and not the one of its service producers). Till now, these 2 visits were available in German and English only but we created two mores for French speakers and adapted to their interests. So, I entered in contact with a famous French platform of activities ‘sale and proposed them the exclusivity of the sale of these two thematic visits. I’m still waiting for an answer.
On Wednesday 16th, I represented VivoVenetia during the test excursion “Roman Venice”, proposed by one of our service providers and that we propose on our summer programs. With a typical boat, the only one able to go in some remotes area of the lagoon, we left Burano to go to the archeological museum of Altino, passing through wonderful natural zone of the lagoon. We had the guided tour of the Museum, explanation of the work of each one and an aperitive on a near Trattoria. After what we came back in Burano where we degusted typical biscuits and coffee before to come back to Venice. This excursion was useful to do business networking and show the presence of Vivovenetia. I could talk with the associations managing the Museum, with whom we will work directly on other tours, and the Regional Intendant for “Beni Culturali”.
Next weeks will be dedicated to the elaboration of the brochures and to the first contacts with French travel agencies.
