I have been 5 months in Eindhoven (Holland), I would dare to say that they have been one of the best months of my life. It´s the longest experience I have had living outside of Spain, and I have to say that I loved it, I adore this Country.
When I arrived, what impressed me the most about the city was seeing so many people pedaling everywhere, people of all kinds, seniors, students, employees, executive directors and families riding bicycles all together. It’s great because there is no pollution, not heavy traffic in the center of the city, because people regularly travel by bicycle.
One of the things I like most about the Netherlands is that being a small country, it is very easy to travel from one side of the country to the other. That means you can explore all corners of the country on the same day, thanks that they have a good organization of the trains. Thanks to this reason, I have discovered many wonderful cities. Something that I think is very necessary to comment, is that there is no crime in Holland. You go safely down the street, if you leave something in sight in the car nothing happens when you return will continue in the same place, in fact, many Dutch families leave their curtains open even if they live on the ground floor because no one is going to steal them.[su_custom_gallery source=”media: 4505,4506,4507,4508″ limit=”33″ link=”lightbox” width=”200″ height=”200″ title=”never”]
The quality of life of workers in the Netherlands is very good, they are recognized for their excellent work-life balance and informal work culture. In fact, part-time employment is common and parents can renegotiate their work week with their boss after the birth of their son or daughter. Being possible that they work from home if there is any problem.
I can´t be more grateful for the opportunity they offered me to go abroad with the grant Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. I have harnessed from the minute one until the last, I have met wonderful people (Dutch people are very polite and kind), Dutch culture, incredible cities, and finally, a very advanced country.
I recommend everyone to come to Holland for a while and enjoy the experience.
I will never forget this experience.
I hope I can come back to Netherlands very soon.
